10 Steps to Implementing Resolutions NOW!

It’s November. What’s that mean? January 1st is right around the corner!! I know. I know. Keep it in perspective and don’t rush the time away. I’m not. But what I am doing is thinking about what I would like to create in the upcoming year and starting on that path NOW. I think THAT is living in the present moment. Why wait until January 1st? If there is something you want to change, create, or eliminate in your life – start now. Renew that resolution daily vs. yearly. Here are some statistics about New Year’s Resolutions....

Love Your Breasts!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You see pink ribbons and pink symbols everywhere, including many of the NFL players who were adorned with pink gloves, bands, towels and the like during yesterday’s games. (Nothing like macho men in pink!) I send compassion and love to those who have experienced breast cancer in their life in any way. I’m all for education and support, but personally I would like to see one small tweak and have October called Breast Health Awareness month. “Our thoughts create our reality — where we put our...

Prepare for the Harvest

Prepare for the Harvest

As I return from a summer blog hiatus I’m amazed that Autumn is upon us. The air is crisp, cool and the darkness appears earlier in the evening. Harvest is typically a reference to the land when before the 16th century harvest was actually the term used to refer to the season. Now called Autumn or more often Fall it is still a time of harvest. A time to collect and reap the rewards of our efforts. What have you been cultivating? We truly are responsible for what we sow, cultivate and reap in our lives. Everyday our thoughts, feelings and...

My Favorite Cooling Summer Smoothie

Staying hydrated during the summer heat is important and challenging. Especially when out in the sun, on the beach, sweating out the heat, and enjoying summer activities. Here is a recent experiment of a simple and spectacular summer smoothie to keep yourself hydrated and healthy. cube a fresh watermelon fill a blender with watermelon cubes, ice, and coconut water blend ENJOY It is that easy. To make it more juicy and smooth freeze some of the watermelon cubes and use them in place of the ice. You can add fresh herbs (basil or mint are two of...

Work less and earn more!

Work less and earn more!

Work less and earn more! Sounds good doesn’t it? I recently listened to Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad Poor Dad again. If you haven’t read or listened to it I highly recommend you do if you want to create true wealth in your life. Working less and earning more is essentially what he strives to teach people. Contrary to social opinion, the way to create wealth in your life is by creating assets that work to make money for you – so you don’t have to work to make money for you. Interesting concept. Don’t work and make money. The big...

Two steps closer to optimal health

Yesterday I started a Paleo challenge at my CrossFit gym. Paleo is a lifestyle of eating that includes lean meats (fish, chicken, beef, pork, turkey), vegetables, nuts and seeds; little starch or fruit; and no dairy, sugar, grains or legumes. For the next 30 days we are very strict. (I’ll update you on results after it is over!) There is a point system to “grade” us with a maximum of 8 points for day for diet, workouts, sleep and supplementation! I was thrilled (and a bit surprised) that you can get a point each for Vitamin D and Fish Oil...

The Writing on the Wall – It’s for YOU

I’m feeling rather abundant! Two weeks ago today I moved to my new home! With my move comes many blessings and exciting new life opportunities. And unless I’m careful moves can also bring a great deal of stress and anxiety. Not the energy I want to bring into my new home. Energy is all we are. Everything is just energy. I won’t go into the science behind this but at our smallest level we are just vibrating particles. I want to bring positive, high-vibration energy into my home, office and being. I gave myself permission to let things go and...

Is your sunscreen toxic?

Here comes the sun (do du do do). Here comes the sun, and I say – It’s all right. That’s a great Beatles song and it certainly is all right. Especially after a long cold lonely winter! It FINALLY warmed up this weekend and I put the top down on my convertible. Boy did it feel good to have rays of sunlight soaking into my skin (good Vitamin D fix). And, it’s time to put some sunscreen in my glove compartment as I got pink fast! Some sun exposure is good for us. Too much is not. We must protect our skin, our largest organ, from sun...

Boston Strong

I’m proud to be a Bostonian. And I’m wealthy beyond my wildest imagination for the abundance of valuable resources who stood up against terrorism and brought peace back to my city of Boston. One brief moment changed thousands of lives forever. I imagine it changed us all in someway. How could it not? Yet, amidst the horror, grief, saddles, loss and terror emerged light. A shining beacon of light. The bombers obviously forgot that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Following the action of terror, the reaction was one of...

Choosing a Quality Nutritional Supplement

Choosing a Quality Nutritional Supplement

Part 2 of my nutritional supplement series: I cringe when I hear people say “Nutritional supplements are all the same. I just buy the cheapest one.” Ask yourself this…Is the quality of anything all the same? Have you ever had a bad cup of coffee? A bad meal? Had something you purchased just fall apart? Well the same is true for supplements. They are not all created equal. So how do you choose a quality supplement? First let me give you a bit of background. Nutritional supplements are classified by the FDA as a food not a drug so manufacturing...
